1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller responsible for processing personal data in connection with the PushFly app and this website is:
Elias HüngerleBungertstrasse 23
8802 Kilchberg
Switzerland
fasnotako@gmail.com
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at the email address above.
2. Privacy at a glance
- No account required. PushFly works without a sign-up, email or password. You only choose a username.
- Camera stays on your phone. Rep tracking runs on your device in real time. Video and images are never recorded, stored or uploaded.
- Local-first. Your plan, onboarding answers, progress, streaks, feathers, collection and settings are stored on your device.
- Pseudonymous analytics. We use product analytics tied to a random identifier to understand how the app is used. We do not use advertising trackers.
- We never sell your data.
3. What we process and why
3.1 Data stored only on your device
The following information is created and stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us, except for the analytics described in section 3.3:
- Username you choose during setup.
- Onboarding answers, such as your push-up experience, current max reps, goals, obstacles, optional gender, current and target body weight, focus area, injuries you tell us about, training frequency and your 90-day target.
- Training and game data, such as your plan, flights, reps, pillars cleared, form and depth scores, streaks, feathers, XP, Wing Rank, achievements and unlocked items.
- App settings, such as reminder preferences and calibration of your push-up range.
Because this data lives on your device, you control it. Deleting the app removes it.
3.2 Camera
PushFly asks for camera access so it can detect the position of your face and measure the depth of each push-up while you play. Frames are analyzed on your device in real time and immediately discarded. No photos or video are recorded, saved, or sent to us or anyone else. You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings → PushFly.
3.3 Product analytics
To understand which parts of PushFly work and where people get stuck, the App Store version of the app sends usage events to our analytics provider, PostHog. These events are linked to a randomly generated identifier created on your device, not to your name, email or Apple ID. Development and test builds do not send analytics.
Analytics events can include:
- screens you view and onboarding steps you complete;
- some onboarding answers (for example experience, max reps, goal, focus area, training frequency, 90-day target, and optional gender), but not your body weight or injuries;
- taps on subscription offers, such as starting a trial or closing the paywall;
- app lifecycle events (installed, updated, opened, sent to background);
- technical information such as device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, and an approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address by PostHog.
We use this information only to improve PushFly. Reinstalling the app creates a new random identifier.
3.4 Notifications
If you allow notifications, PushFly schedules reminders on your device for the days you chose to train. Notifications are delivered by Apple. If we send push notifications in the future, a device push token is processed by the Apple Push Notification service for that purpose.
3.5 Leaderboards
Where PushFly shows online leaderboards, your username, chosen bird, rank and scores are visible to other players. Please don't use your real name or anything offensive as your username.
3.6 Subscriptions
PushFly Pro is purchased and managed through the Apple App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your card details. To unlock Pro features we receive your subscription status (for example trial, active, expired, renewed). We use RevenueCat to verify purchases and manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives the anonymous app user identifier and App Store transaction information, but not your payment details.
3.7 App updates and diagnostics
PushFly is built with Expo. When the app checks for updates, your device contacts Expo's update servers, which process technical information such as the app version, platform and IP address. If you have enabled sharing with app developers in iOS, Apple may also provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics.
4. Legal bases
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) applies, we rely on:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for camera and notification access. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device settings.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) to provide the app and PushFly Pro.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to understand usage through pseudonymous analytics, keep the app secure and reliable, and improve it.
5. Service providers
We share data only with service providers that help us run PushFly, and only as far as necessary:
- PostHog, Inc. for product analytics (data hosted in the United States).
- RevenueCat, Inc. for purchase verification and subscription status.
- Apple Inc. for App Store purchases, subscription management, notification delivery and optional diagnostics.
- Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) for app updates and the app development platform.
6. International transfers
Some providers process data outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks where applicable, and equivalent mechanisms recognized under Swiss law.
7. How long we keep data
- On-device data stays on your device until you delete the app.
- Camera frames are discarded immediately after analysis and never stored.
- Analytics data is kept only as long as needed to understand and improve the app, and deleted on request.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these rights directly: revoke permissions in iOS Settings or delete the app to remove local data.
For any other request, email fasnotako@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU your local data protection authority.
9. Children
PushFly is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including on-device processing of camera frames, the app's sandboxed private storage, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for any data in transit, and data minimization. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information with appropriate safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
